What is Your Diagnostic Fee and Will You Waive It If I Do a Repair?

There was a lady who called recently and stated “my heat doesn’t work, what will it cost to get it working again?” The first step in this process is to get a technician to ‘diagnose’ the problem so many companies call this type of call a Diagnostic Fee Call (DI). How this industry decided to use DI instead of DC makes very little sense except that DC usually means Duct Cleaning in our industry.

Most firms charge from $69 to $149 for their diagnostic fee service. This could depend on the complexity of the system and the difficulty of accessing the equipment. Commercial equipment is typically more expensive than residential equipment to service and repair. We currently charge $89 for our residential service diagnostic fee call. (Here’s a sneaky hint, we offer a $20 discount for putting our yard sign out and helping steer your neighbor to us when in need, ask about our yard sign program.)

The next question we here often is will you waive this diagnostic fee if I do the repair?  Some companies will and some will not. Please fill out the form on the right to waive the diagnostic fee and we gladly reward people who use our website’s vast information resource. We benefit as our other products or services may be noticed and may help to start the conversation such as “Hey, I noticed you also have air filter services!
